JUNIOR FACULTY CONSORTIUM

Overview

The ICIS 2023 Junior Faculty Consortium (JFC) will provide a professional development opportunity for untenured faculty focusing on research, teaching, and service activities, including how to achieve balance in these activities and navigate the challenges of academia.

This one-day event (scheduled for Sunday December 10, 2023) is designed specifically for junior faculty to be oriented and prepared for the opportunities and challenges ahead. Participants will spend the day with a group of distinguished scholars, mid-career faculty who have gone through the tenure process more recently, as well as peer colleagues in order to get advice and share experiences. In particular, the overarching goals of the workshop are to provide junior faculty with advice on how to plan and manage the tenure process and future career and to offer a platform for discussion and networking.

The workshop will address various topics and related choices that you have to make on your tenure-track journey, including publication and networking strategies, tenure preparation and career planning, work-life balance, managing co-authorships, etc. The workshop format will be very interactive to make the day fruitful and enjoyable for you.
